Om Sri Maha Kalikayai Namaha!
Kali means “force of time”. Her dark appearance represents the darkness from which everything was born.
Despite Kali’s history of battles, she evolved to a full-fledged symbol of Mother Nature in her true power with the nurturing and devouring aspects of creation. She is also seen as a divine protector, the one who bestows liberation and is often seen standing or dancing on her consort who lies calm and prostrate beneath her.
In Hindu tantric traditions Kali is referred to as a great and loving primordial Mother Goddess. Her free, long and black hair represents nature’s freedom from civilization and one of Kali’s weapons is the bow and arrow which pierces the flower of consciousness.
