Easy Ways To Include Mini Rituals Throughout Your Day

One topic which is discussed a lot when mentoring and during my teacher trainings is the lack of time people have to include ritual or a sense of the sacred throughout their day. So here’s six simple ways to incorporate mini rituals in the flow of your day, regardless if you’re a busy single mama, a high flying executive or just simply don’t know where to begin or what this means!

1. Be grateful for three simple things before getting out of bed. Eg: How rested you feel, the warmth and softness of your bed, remembering the last conversation you had which made you laugh, being grateful for your health and vitality or for your family.
Ritual time: 2 – 5 minutes

2. Light a candle with clear intention. Fire purifies, cleanses and illuminates the dark spaces so intentionally lighting a candle and requesting for specific guidance shifts your perspective, gives purpose and clears your mind. Once the candle is lit, go about your day knowing that your intention or prayer has been received, trusting the diving timing of how it unfolds.
Ritual time: 30 seconds to 1 minute

3. Greet the sunrise and welcome in its life giving golden glow as you align with the rhythm of the day and feel where your energy is naturally flowing and growing. Even if you can’t see it peak over the horizon, you can greet the sunrise from any place which catches the first time.
Ritual time: 5 – 10 minutes

4. Journal without the need to edit or think too much, just write! Tapping into a stream of consciousness writing helps to reorganise a busy mind and can leave you feeling crystal clear and lighter. There’s no need for it to be perfect or even to make sense, it’s just a process of removing excess mind chatter.
Ritual time: 10 – 20 minutes

5. Mindfully drink your tea, coffee, matcha, chai, cacao or whatever your chosen drink is just drink it mindfully! Before you take the first sip pause to smell the unique aroma, then savour the flavours as you take a sip and feel into how the body responds as you drink it. Tuning into its warmth, the different sensations and your unique relationship to your chosen drink.
Ritual time: 10 – 20 minutes

6. Move! Unroll your yoga mat to stretch and tune into how your body feels and its individual needs. Any movement on or off a yoga mat enhances blood flow and increases the feel good endorphins which can set the tone of the day ahead.
Ritual time: 5 – 30 minutes

These are just a few that I do depending on how much time I have and really feel like they make a difference. I’d love to know, what’s your go to daily rituals?
