My 20th Year As A Yoga Teacher!

I literally only realised this the other day!

My first 200hr certification was completed over 9 months during one of the many years I was living in Brighton (UK). I signed up with the intention of not teaching but purely for self study and self exploration. That specific course spoke to me because it offered time and space in-between training weekends for integration and practice which I really liked.

As some of you know, my embodiment teaching journey actually started way back in 1994 as a dance teacher (30 years ago!) so teaching was not new to me but the subject of yoga was.

Yoga had already been an influential part of my life long before this first certification.
One of my best friends mother was a yoga teacher.
I chose yoga as a sport in high school.
When I studied dance, yoga was part of our weekly curriculum.
There were numerous yoga books on the book shelf at home.

Fast forward to now and I’m still on this teaching path!

Has it been easy? Far from it but worth every lesson and blessing along the way.
Would I change it? Never, not in a single heart beat!
Have I become super flexible, strong and mastered all the poses? Um no, I still consider myself a beginner and am continually humbled by the physical practice.
Do I have my own studio? No but I’m still dreaming of owning one which is a collaborative creative embodiment space with other likeminded and inspirational teachers.
Have a reached samadhi? Far from it!

Right up until Covid I was teaching and traveling internationally, following the sun while sharing my passion for embodiment through workshops, retreats, teacher trainings and festivals. This continual summer lasted nine years!

From the UK to China, New Zealand, Lebanon, Japan, France, Thailand, Malaysia, Spain, Bali, Bulgaria, Australia, Finland and beyond! My teaching path lead me to so many countries and communities.

I’ve meet some incredibly inspiring humans along the way and loved very sweet precious moment.

If you’re still reading and we’ve shared some mat time over the past 20 years, let me know where and when so we can reminisce this occasion together!

Happy 20 year yoga teaching anniversary to me!

Heart felt gratitude to you for being part of my journey.
